Story
I still remember the exact moment I knew this is what I “wanted to be when I grow up.” When I was 10 years old, it was in the middle of a writing exam, and I started sketching under my desk. Afterwards, I took some colored pencils outside with me and started making little dress designs on a piece of paper during recess that day. When I got home, I told my parents and grandma “when I grow up, I’m going to create my own fashion house.” And my grandmother responded, “Just like Valentino.” And that’s where it all began. My grandmother became a huge influence over my work, always bringing me articles and flipping through Vogue with me. She’d take me shopping and teach me about quality textiles. All of this for her now.
While much about the world of fashion, and me, has changed, rather – evolved, I invite you to step inside the new and improved AmZ |Alexandra Marie – a project committed to blurring the lines between the fashion and art worlds. Every piece is made-for-you or a one-of-a-kind collaboration with an artist. The new AmZ is a place which blurs the lines between the art and fashion world and revives a more personalized, interactive shopping experience.
Every garment is an opportunity to tell a story and we strive to make every part of the shopping experience an adventure. We believe clothes are more than just pieces of fabric—they’re memory makers, conversation starters, and oftentimes, works of art.
At the heart of Alexandra Marie is a commitment to sustainability and a touch of cheeky (yet timeless) creativity. We exclusively use all-natural fibers and dead stock fabrics, turning high-quality materials that might otherwise go to waste into something lasting. The made-to-order model paired with our pattern making philosophy all serve to reduce waste in the fashion industry for a healthier planet.
